Join us for a rare opportunity to explore four exceptional private gardens in the Richland, Gull Lake, and Augusta areas—only available to Kalamazoo Garden Council members and their friends. These hidden gems are not open to the public, offering a unique glimpse into the creativity, craftsmanship, and personal passion of these gardeners—from whimsical lakeside retreats to lush in-town oases. Each stop tells a story. Every corner invites wonder. And you are invited!

Winnie's Garden

Winnie’s Place in Richland

This peaceful backyard retreat features a one-of-a-kind garden cottage made from reclaimed materials. It includes charming herb and vegetable beds, which are favorites of her grandchildren. The area is adorned with specimen trees and beautifully designed borders and landscaping, also incorporating reclaimed materials. This setting is a haven for birdwatchers, nestled against open farmland.

This enchanting lakeside home features a stunning boulder patio, blending a vibrant beach and garden atmosphere. Ideal for relaxation and celebration. The homeowner is creating a whimsical summer Beach Party area that connects the home to the shoreline. Each plant and rock in the landscape adds depth to this captivating oasis. and comfort. This landscape holds some special stories.

Prepare to be wowed! A historic home bursting with color, personality, and thoughtful details. This garden is a masterclass in storytelling, design, and vibrant plant combinations, with plenty of playful touches and geological gems to discover.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: We are pre-registering participants to ensure we are fully prepared and to make check-in go smoothly. This is a one-day-only opportunity (rain or shine) to enjoy a few fun hours close to home while touring four private gardens that have graciously opened their doors to us.

On July 17th, a Mailchimp email will be sent to our members with the addresses of the gardens. At check-in, you will receive a ticket that includes additional information about each garden, a map with driving instructions, and Google Map QR codes to help you navigate using your phone. 

Parking: All gardens offer easy access parking. The two Gull Lake homes are side-by-side, making it convenient to visit both in one stop.
