NGC/MGC Schools Reinmbursement
Environmental, Gardening, Landscape Design, and Flower Show:
KGC provides a 50% registration fee reimbursement to any member and first-time attendee who successfully passes one of four courses in each of the four NGC schools. To comply with IRS 501(c)3 nonprofit regulations, all KGC funding must benefit the mission of the organization, not just an individual member. To qualify, participants are asked to voluntarily agree to share what they have learned with others in their club and community as opportunities become available. Participants are asked to complete the form located on the KGC website and notify the KGC Treasurer upon course completion to receive reimbursement. The Council encourages participation in any or all the schools as a way to increase member knowledge and become a Consultant or Flower Show Judge upon completion of all four courses in a school.
MGC Hazel Wirick Scholarship Fund

Louise Adams Civic Beautification Awards
($200 Matching-Funds Awards)
Kalamazoo Garden Council encourages its member garden clubs to be actively involved in civic beautification projects. It has established a program to financially assist garden clubs in beautifying and maintaining a specific site within the community. This award money may be used to help offset the cost of plant material (flowers, shrubs, trees, bulbs, groundcover), mulch, stone, edging or other materials used in landscaping, garden beds, or in container gardening. It may also be used for equipment necessary in maintaining the area, such as hoses, stakes, labels, signs, etc.

The Arend Fund
An endowment from Dean Arend, in memory of Miriam Arend, created to offset costs for members attending the MGC State Conference. Application and participation guidelines are available on the KGC website.
The KGC Tribute Fund
Established in 2018 to honor members, clubs, or individuals. Acknowledgments are sent to donors and honorees. Funds support Council House landscaping. Records are maintained in-house and online. Donations of more than $200 are listed in a binder that is kept in the Library, and new names will be added to a side panel on the sign in the Memorial Lane gardens when there are enough.
Past President Memorial
Upon the death of any past KGC board president, the Council will donate $100 to Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. for the Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary, with the Fremont Area Community Foundation matching this amount at 100%.
Additional Donations:
The KGC Board of Directors may decide to donate additional funds to support mission-aligned organizations based on current budget and priorities.
